one last time random!!!

Yes I am already a few weeks back in Belgium, but before I left I got some of photos of my friends there, cause most of time I am too lazy to take a camera with me ! So I came across a few photos which I wanted to share with you!

Oh, don't dance in front of police officers cause appearantly they don't like it! Lucky for me Chinese police is very friendly, and patient!

Some of the examples of how not to preserve your food!!!
What to do if you want a motorbike but you can't afford it?? Of course, you do it yourself! That's respect! It was often sad to see how poor the people are there, but on the other hand you can only have respect if you see how big the will is to survive and how they keep on trying to achieve a better life over there!

Anyway, that's it for the moment and to those who don't know yet, I am back in Europe!

Here comes the rain again falling on my head ... !!

You don't actually need to have rain to get these scenario's in china! Traffic is always a challenge in China!

The last post from China!!

Well, I think I already mentioned that chinese have a different flavor when it comes to food, well here you get a nice photo of it! Bon Apetit!!
These 2 photos where shot at the temples in Hangzhou. I've been collecting the foto albums of everyone yesterday, but i did not have time to check them all out yet. Anyway, I hope I'll have a nice flight back, and get a bit of rest, cause the internship was hard labor. So See you all back in Europe!! Greetz Joris

A bit of everything!

Yes, a frontview! Hahaa!
Me at dragon club!!
Me with one of my roommates in Hangzou. How do you write Hangzou again?
No,not my girlfriend! She's actually from Germany and was also doing an internship in Shanghai!

inspired by communism!

A quick doodle I made without having any reference! Yes it reminds a bit of the good old russian communism. I can't draw cars all the time can I ? By the way speaking of communism, at VW shanghai, all the people who are still member of the communist party, have the communist flag next to their name mentioned at the doors of their offices! How cool is that!

Next week I got some free time, so I am going to try to make some pictures on the streets again!

Teppanyaki!!

Well we had to celebrate the fact that 2 of our friends where flying back to germany so we all decided to go to a teppanyaki restaurant! This means they cook the food on a big teppan or a big heated inox plate. On the second and third pic you can see the cook playing with fire while he's making japanese pancakes! Normally you don't put these pancakes on fire but as you can see he made the fire around it. Later that evening he made these flambe bananas, so delicious!!!
Of course ( after we al had the necessary beers, including the cook himself; we forced him to join us!!!) I had to give the cook my approval as you can see in the last picture below!!!

industrial design exhibition Shanghai 2

Photos taken from the German section, they had a very nice exhibition there and also very experimental.
The dress is done by some asian designer, don't ask me who, cause i don't write the names down.

Of cours ethe dutch were there as well, I didn't like their exhibition that much cause they had many companies standing there looking for business partners. ( haha, you know how the dutch are !) Further more there was also some australian design and some local chinese design as well. I saw some nice things but no revolutionary things unfortunately. But it was definately worth visiting it!

industrial design exhibition Shanghai

Pictures taken at the industrial design exhibition in Shanghai. The building is very cool, it used to be a very big ancient slaughterhouse. As you can see they did a great job on it!!

View from the roof !! The contrast between rich and poor is sometimes very big.

visit Suzhou 2

A visit to the famous "Master of the nets" garden, it is world property whatever you call it protected! Very nice garden I have to say, it consists out of several little gardens and buildings which form together an unlogical architecture which makes it difficult but funny to orientate!

Oh, if you know me, you should know that i am a bonsai fan and the garden had many so it was very nice for me to see them. Unfortunately there is an other garden with thousands of bonsais but I didn't manage to get there.
Bad boy warrior!!!!!
Me and Joern ( another intern, aka mister 2 meter) in the pagoda in Suzhou, the higher we went, the lower the ceilings became!

visit Suzhou

My train to Suzhou! And I thought only japan had these funky bullit trains! Ok this one is not that extreme, but you got to admit it still an impressive machine!

As you can see the weather was very bad, and rainy, coincidence that Suzhou is also called the watercity, cause it has similarities with venice, it has lots of waterstreets.

sunday afternoon walk 2

The museum for science and thechnology, at least a part of it. It is rather huge but the weather was to good so I stayed outside in the park!!

sunday afternoon walk

Chinese and their kites, didn't they invent them? Anyway this man tried to sell me one, I ended up buying one for 2 euros! The man pulled a kind of angry face cause the price was not good, he did not make enough money on it. Well, than don't sell it, mate!

Don't ask me questions about the food. I have already eaten so many crazy things here! Normally I don't buy food on the street, but if it looks a bit hygienic than I buy it once in a while.

Guess the brand!!

Unfortunately, i didn't manage to snap the coolest brands here yet, but in the meanwhile you can all enjoy these cars . I hope to snap a picture of the fake x5 and the opel frontera, furthermore I also saw a van with a BMW grill on it, looked very funny!
